Winter is coming – 31/05/2009

The calendar tells us that winter is almost here. We have heaters available and close the blinds in the outdoor area when the temperature drops.

Our menu will change slightly to include “winter” types of food, and, of course, our famous beef and mushroom in red wine pies are ideal for this weather. Add a glass of red wine and a delightful culinary experience awaits! Soup will also be available as well as other menu regulars such as cottage pie and quiche. As always, our food is wholesome and homemade, and fresh for your enjoyment. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Harvest Festival 2009 – 18/05/2009

Well! Thanks to our organising committee and to some lovely weather, this year’s Festival was a tremendous success, building on the foundation of previous years. We enjoyed record crowds on both Saturday and Sunday, and thank all our customers for their patronage. With the opening on Sunday of the new Farmers Market in Kalamunda, and the regular monthly Saturday market, there were crowds already attracted to the area. Our musicians played non stop on Sunday for the entertainment of customers, and for the littleys our Fairy Amanda had a delightful grotto where lots of fairy dreams were created. We had lots of food and wine for the enjoyment of our patrons. Thanks again to you all – we look forward to bigger and better things next year!

Vintage 2009 – 25/04/2009

We have enjoyed a very satisfying vintage this year. Weather conditions have been ideal and the fruit has developed some really good qualities. We have made our first Rosé from grapes from Fairbrossen. This was released at the Festival and has proved an instant success. Our winemaker Matt has produced a delightful wine which both surprises and pleases the palate! Be sure to try some when you next visit us.

Apricot abundance – 15/01/09

Following a very productive harvest of our own orchard grown apricots, we have been busy creating a range of products for your enjoyment. We let our apricots ripen on the trees to develop that lovely full fruit flavour which can be missing in many products. We then convert this fruit into products for your enjoyment.

So, now we have freshly made apricot jam, which is beautiful with Meg's homemade scones and cream. We also have a spicy apricot sauce for cooking, and an apricot ice cream. Shortly we will have sweet apricot sauce and an apricot chutney.
And look out for our apricot fruit wine in the near future!!

New release of sparkling wine – 02/12/08

We are excited to announce the launch of our first sparkling wine!

This wine is made in the traditional Methode Champenoise and is an excellent example. Congratulations to our winemaker Matt on production of this lovely wine which is sure to please. With its refreshing crispness it will be an ideal drink for the festivities and expected warm weather. Come and try for yourself, and save on our special order prices.
